The Kitchen of Schuhbeck- 2012, Munich

schuhbeck 2

October and November seemed to pass right before me. I worked hard, learned some regional cuisine, made friends and established myself in München. I’ve been through the ringer here, its tough, bureaucratic but eventful to say the least.

The top picture is the prep for a typical Bavarian meal: Meat and Potatoes. Bavarians enjoy eating classic family recipes. Typically, their signature dishes included very rich and hearty meats; mostly pork or cow, goat and some goat, creamy cheeses and lots of brown savory sauces.  Cheese and dairy products are some of the best, to say the least, around here and they are in no short supply. I’d open up with a conversation about sausages here but there isn’t enough time in the day to talk about it. Needless to say, it’s a delicious place.

The second picture is me, on the far left with some co-workers clowning around with a tray of grilled steaks and a wheel of bre cheese. Classic!Schuhbeck
